Willow
Pond Farm is a family-owned herb farm in Fairfield, Pennsylvania, located
fifteen minutes west of Gettysburg. We produce and sell a wide variety
of herb plants and herbal products including gift baskets, jellies, vinegars,
honeys, and teas with an emphasis on lavender. The farm is certified organic
by Pennsylvania Certified Organic.
Proprietors Tom and Madeline Wajda (pronounced Vy-da) purchased Willow Pond in the spring of 1994 and immediately began developing their herb and everlasting flower gardens. The Willow Pond Farm shop opened in 1995.
In addition to its shop, Willow Pond offers visitors more than a dozen demonstration gardens featuring culinary herbs, edible flowers, antique roses, mint, scented geraniums, salvias, medicinal herbs, biblical plants, and dye plants. For the past several years, the Wajdas have focussed their attention on lavender and now have more than two acres planted with this magnificent herb. Their inventory includes nearly 100 varieties. Willow Pond also offers a silver "moon" garden, a sun garden, a shade garden, a butterfly garden, and a 200-foot-long perennial border. A five-acre wildflower meadow provide visitors with an opportunity to "walk of the wild side."
In 2005, Willow Pond Farm will assume management of the salvia collection belonging to the Potomac Unit of The Herb Society of America. We look forward to accepting this responsibility and to the beauty that the collection will add to our farm.
Open Thu–Sat, 9 am–5 pm, from April 1 until Christmas.
Also open Sunday, noon–5 pm, from April 1 till mid-June, and in November and December.
